Privacy policy

Last updated 1 September 2026

This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Alisend is a small Nairobi business, not an advertising company, and this policy reflects that.

What we collect

We do not collect payment card details. Mpesa payments happen directly between your phone and ours through Safaricom, and we never see or store card or bank numbers.

What stays on your phone

To save you retyping things, the app stores your name, phone number, email and a short list of your recent reference numbers on your own device. It never leaves your phone unless you send an errand. You can wipe it at any time using Clear what this phone remembers on the Errands screen.

Signing in with Google

Signing in is optional and the app works fully without it. If you do sign in, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us so your errand history follows you between devices. We never see your Google password and we cannot access your Gmail, Drive, contacts or anything else in your Google account. Sign out at any time from the Errands screen.

Why we collect it

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not build profiles on you.

Who else sees it

That is the full list.

How long we keep it

Errand records are kept for two years for accounting and dispute purposes, then deleted. Marketing contact details are kept until you ask us to stop.

Your rights

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019 you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, delete your records, or stop sending you marketing. Message 0701 661 111 on WhatsApp or email alisender07@gmail.com and we will act within 30 days. There is no charge.

You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya.

Security

Order records are held in a Google account protected by a password and two step verification. Only Alisen has access. We ask you not to send us passwords, PINs or ID numbers over WhatsApp, and we will never ask you for your Mpesa PIN. Nobody from Alisend will ever call and ask for it.

A word on scams. We will never ask you to send money to a number other than 0701 661 111, and we will never ask for your Mpesa PIN. If someone claiming to be from Alisend asks for either, it is not us. Hang up and message us on WhatsApp.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
